Fit and Seal Procedure
The below procedure has been designed to improve speed to market, minimise sampling and reduce lead time.
Fit comments will be sent via email from: firstname.lastname@example.org
DO NOT send email queries to this account as it is not manned.
All garments MUST arrive with identification labels/ tickets including style name, reference code (these codes MUST remain with the garment throughout its lifetime), sample type, fabric/ composition and date.
‘Spec and Grade’ templates have been generated for each class and include measurement charts and grade rules. The Vendor is responsible for maintaining these by SKU.
All fit samples MUST be sent with a paper copy of the spec. Specs MUST not be sent via email unless requested by the technologist.
Once a garment is sealed it is sealed to cut. Do not submit REF or PP samples unless requested to do so by the technologist.
Deliveries MUST not ex- factory until you have received production approval from Urban Outfitters. 3x TOP (production) samples to be sent in sizes:
Womenswear: Small, 27” waist or 34B
Menswear: Medium or 32” waist
Graded specs to be completed, by the Vendor, once the garment is sealed and sent for reference to: email@example.com
Graded specs will not be ‘approved’ by Urban Outfitters however you are required to use the URBN UK Ltd grade rules for bulk production.
Note: styles that have been initiated on the existing workbooks will remain until the product is sealed. Otherwise all new fits will follow the above process.
