The procedure has been designed to enable risk assessment of all footwear. This must be accounted for in the critical path.
It is the shared responsibility of the Vendor and URBN UK Ltd to ensure all products, made available for sale, are safe, fit for purpose and legally compliant.
Vendors are responsible for ensuring that all URBN UK Ltd products are REACH compliant:
Pre-Production / Fit Samples must be clearly labelled and sent to the buying team. Sealing Sheets to be sent via email to Buying & Technical 24 hours before the fit session.
All goods must be tested to the relevant test requirements as detailed in the Vendor Manual. The Sealing Sheet must detail all the testing which is to be carried out by the Vendor at Development / Pre Production stage. Additional tests may be requested by URBN Technical, which will be stated on the Sealing Sheet during the fit session.
Fully completed Sealing Sheets and Test reports must be sent via email to the relevant technologist at least 5 days prior to Production Sample approval. Failure to do so may result in delivery delays.
The title of the email should include the style name and number e.g. UR1051 Amber Zip Boot Do not CC Buying as this duplicates workload.
2 x Production samples must be sent to the buying team for Production approval. Goods cannot be shipped until the fully labelled & packaged Bulk Production Sample, and a fully completed Sealing Sheet has been approved by URBN Buying and Technical.
Vendors may print their own Fibre Pictogram labels using the artwork in Section 3, of the EU OB Footwear Technical Manual.
